Vacation Scholarships: Undergraduates who were born in Scotland or who have a parent born in Scotland or who have at least two years of secondary education in Scotland, may be considered for the award of a Vacation Scholarship for the pursuit of a full-time research project, usually in the vacation between their second and third years. Vacation Scholarships cannot be used for attendance at conferences.
Undergraduate Research Bursaries in Science: These bursaries provide support to enable undergraduates who are considering research as a career to work in a research laboratory during the summer vacation before their final year. The bursaries provide student support, normally for a period between 6 and 8 weeks, plus a sum for research expenses. 330 grants were awarded for bursaries in Summer 2006.
Student Research Bursaries: The Department of Psychology at Stirling provides regular opportunity for undergraduates to get involved in research projects. Funding is provided by the Department's Research Committee, typically involving a maximum of 10 hours work a week over the course of a semester, or 8 weeks full-time during the summer break. Applications are made by members of staff, and awards are normally advertised around the department.
